Group Information:
Migraines are a common neurologic disorder that can be complex, recurrent, and significantly impact daily life. 98% of chronic migraines are not found to be linked to any structural cause in the body and are likely caused by dysfunction in the nervous system. Non-structural head pain, such as headaches and trigeminal neuralgia, can occur when the nervous system gets stuck in a state of perceiving danger, even when there's no threat. This can lead to the nervous system continuously sending pain signals to the brain. This group will use psychological approaches to directly address the functions of the central nervous system contributing to head pain, especially one's thoughts, feelings, and relationships. The approaches used in this group will aim to eliminate headaches and head pain as we deconstruct the connection between stress, emotions, and chronic head pain.
